Dr Nui is Thai, but spent her past 20 years living and studying in Western Australia. Nui married Dr John Milton, one of Australia’s most highly regarded animal nutritionists, in 1989 and move to Perth in 1991. (... click for more....)
Nui considers leaving Thailand to live in Perth was a minor lifestyle change compared to her 2007 move to ‘Casalana’ in Serpentine. Here she has developed a love of ultrafine merino wool and her skills in merino sheep management.
Nui left behind her a role in soil biological research at UWA which followed on from her PhD research studies. Nui keeps her soil research interests alive through work in soil research at CSBP and application of her skills to the development of pasture feed for her Merinos at Casalana. In return, the sheep repay her with ultra-fine wool for her creation of “Casalana” products.
Nui often become a surrogate mother of Casalana lambs. It is common that Merino ewe with twin lambs donot enough milk for both them.
